In my art work I am concentrating on things which are affecting by The Middle East. I am looking for some common elements, symbols which give an expression on all cultural and political background. I am searching and I would like to search for some elements, symbols which show wide context of this very specific part of the World, - from my European, sometimes critical point of view. This is a source of ideas which moves me to more general topics. I am inspired by sociological aspects, marks that determinate for me this region. Another important subject for me is a comprehension (or rather an incomprehension) of those marks in the Western countries.

I am working on subjects related to the situations experienced by myself, but also on the subjects interrelated to the media coverage, information and press release, which creates some specific and very often artificial pictures of the reality. Television, newspapers, etc. are for me an unceasing source of inspirations. Politics, it is another important aspect for me. Why? - First of all, politics was always the area of my interest. Another reason is that, from my point of view, it is a very significant part of the reality, and when I intentionally omit it, my statement is incomplete.

In my works, ethnical, religious and cultural conflicts generate areas, maps which are not only a simple and clear cartography. The territoriality is becoming the abstract based in the reality. A spot is crashed with another spot, and this situation makes some dependence, relation - the real one (political, ethnical) and a formal one, happening on the surface of the painting. Those collisions of marks, lines, surfaces create contrasts and combinations which is an esthetical contemplation. Many of my paintings are also a kind of dialogue with a minimalism, a reduction of form, and general ideas of abstraction, not only from the artistic meaning, but also as a the process or result of generalization, by reducing the information content of a concept.
